OR 1 14oz can of tomato puree instead of the tomato paste and diced tomatoes
1tbspolive oil
1tspgarlic powder
1tsponion powder
2tspsugar
1spring each offresh thyme, oregano, and rosemaryLeaves pulled off the stems and roughly chopped
3-4fresh sage leaves,roughly chopped
3-4fresh basil leaves,roughly chopped
sea salt and white pepper to taste(I use about 1 tsp. of each) you can also sub-black pepper if that's all you have.
Instructions
In a blender (you could also use a food processor or immersion blender.)combine the diced tomatoes and tomato paste and blend until smooth, adding water as needed to help it all blend easier.
If you prefer your pizza sauce to be thinner then add water until you reach your desired consistency.
Pour the sauce into a bowl and add the remaining ingredients, stir, taste, and adjust the seasoning if needed. And that's it!
Use as you would any other pizza sauce and enjoy!
Notes
This sauce will last in the fridge for about 1 week. You can freeze or can pizza sauce as well and kept for months. You can use fresh tomatoes in place of canned in this sauce. You can also use a variety of tomatoes, you don't have to stick to just red ones, try using yellow, orange, purple, or all three! You can also use fresh onion and garlic in place of the dried.Feel free to use honey, maple syrup, or your favorite sweetener in place of the sugar. If you are in a pinch feel free to use Italian seasoning in place of the fresh herbs.
