Ingredients

  • 12 oz cold coffee I like to make hot coffee and put it in the fridge overnight to chill. But you can also use cold brew coffee or even instant coffee grounds mixed with cold water! You can also use any roast or flavor of coffee you like for this recipe!
  • 2-3 tbsp sweetened condensed milk
  • a splash of heavy cream You can also use half n' half, whole milk, low-fat milk, or non-dairy milk.

Instructions

There are two methods I like to use for making this easy recipe. I usually use method 1, but feel free to use whatever works best for you!

    Method 1

    • Place a handful of ice cubes in a large jar with a lid, and add the cold coffee and sweetened condensed milk. Screw the lid on tightly, then shake the jar as hard as you can for 1-2 minutes.
    • Pour the coffee mixture and the ice into a tall glass, add a splash of heavy cream, stir, and enjoy!

    Method 2

    • Place the cold coffee and the sweetened condensed milk in a large jar or small mixing bowl. Then using an immersion blender or a milk frother. blend the mixture until the sweetened condensed milk is completely incorporated.
    • Fill a glass with ice, pour the sweetened coffee mixture into it, add a splash of cream, stir, and enjoy!
    • Tip: If your iced coffee gets a bit too watered down for your liking, try using coffee ice cubes instead of regular ice. Coffee ice cubes can easily be made at home, simply fill your ice cube trays with coffee. (I like to use leftover or cold coffee for this!) and place them in the freezer overnight. Remove the cubes and place them in a freezer bag for long-term storage. Use just like ice cubes in all your favorite homemade iced coffee recipes!

    Notes

If you don't have any cold coffee on hand, you can also use hot coffee for this recipe. Simply make a serving of coffee as usual, then fill a large glass or jar all the way up with ice. Pour the hot coffee over the ice then place the jar in the fridge and allow it to chill for 3-5 minutes, before making your iced coffee. Be sure to place your glass or jar in the sink or a shallow dish before pouring the coffee over the ice, in case the jar breaks. I've never personally never had a jar break, in all the years I've been making iced coffee but it's always best to safe!

If you don't want to use sweetened condensed milk for this recipe or you don't have any on hand there are lots of other sweeteners that can be used! Brown sugar, maple syrup, white sugar, and even simple syrup all work great!

To add a little extra flavor to your iced coffee, feel free to play around with different add-ins or flavored syrups! A few favorites are, vanilla extract, to create a quick and simple iced vanilla latte. And Chocolate syrup to make an easy iced mocha!

You can easily use this recipe to make iced coffee for a large group. Simply multiply the ingredients by the number of people you are planning to serve. You can make a large batch using Method 2 in a mixing bowl or even an upright blender! This easy iced coffee can even be made the day before an event, just don't add the ice until you are ready to serve, to avoid your coffee getting watered down!
