- 1 cup whole milk you can also use skim milk, 1%, 2%, or even your favorite non-dairy milk!
- 1/4 cup heavy cream or more milk
- 2 tbsp white chocolate chips you can also use white chocolate chunks or a roughly chopped bar of white chocolate. Just be sure to use good-quality chocolate!
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/4 cup strong brewed coffee , OR 2 shots of espresso OR 3 tbsp water + 1 tbsp instant coffee(to create homemade instant espresso
- whipped cream for serving optional
In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, heat the milk and heavy cream until small bubbles form around the edges, stirring often to ensure that the milk doesn’t scald.
While the milk mixture is heating prepare your coffee/espresso of choice. Make sure your coffee is very hot so it doesn’t get cold while you are finishing the milk.
Once the milk mixture is hot and steaming, remove the pan from the heat. Add the white chocolate chips and whisk until they are completely melted.
Pour your prepared coffee, or espresso shots into a mug, and pour the white chocolate milk over it. Stir gently with a spoon to combine. Top with whipped cream if using, and serve immediately.
Enjoy!
If you prefer you can also use white chocolate sauce or syrup instead of the white chocolate chips in this recipe!
This latte can also easily be made into an iced latte! To do so fill a large glass all the way up with ice, pour in a splash of milk, followed by your coffee/espresso, then fill the glass the rest of the way up with your prepared white chocolate milk. Stir and enjoy!
Here is my easy homemade whipped cream recipe! Combine 1 cup heavy cream, 2 tbsp powdered sugar, and 3 tsp vanilla extract in a large bowl. Beat using an electric mixer at high speed until stiff peaks form. Use to top any of your latte homemade lattes, shakes, or desserts!
