Blackberry White Hot Chocolate

This easy white hot chocolate recipe is perfect for chilly winter months, it's rich creamy, and delicious, and we've added a fun twist! The addition of homemade blackberry syrup makes this decadent drink one of a kind and oh-so-yummy!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk you can use any kind of milk you like, but I prefer to use whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream you can substitute more milk, but the hot chocolate won't be as creamy
  • 2 tbsp white chocolate chips you can use a white chocolate bar chopped into small pieces, white chocolate pieces, or even white chocolate shavings. Just be sure to use good-quality chocolate!
  • 1 1/2 tbsp homemade blackberry syrup

Instructions
 

  • In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, heat the milk until small bubbles appear around the edges of the pan.
  • Add the white chocolate chips and whisk until the chocolate is completely melted and the milk is hot enough for your liking.
  • Pour the blackberry syrup into a coffee mug, followed by the hot white chocolate milk.
  • Stir and enjoy!

Notes

You can top this recipe with any of your favorite hot chocolate toppings, fresh whipped cream, mini marshmallows, dark chocolate shavings, etc.
 
If you don't have white chocolate, you can use white chocolate syrup or white chocolate mocha sauce in place of the chocolate chips.
 
Sometimes I add a little vanilla extract to this recipe, I feel the vanilla flavor rounds out the the recipe nicely. I add roughly 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract when I am feeling fancy!
