I’m fairly certain for a while we had this easy chicken divan recipe at least once a week. Why? I’m not really sure I guess there was just something about this classic recipe that we loved.
Maybe it was the creamy sauce or the fact it was super easy to make, especially when we had leftover chicken in the house. Maybe because it was cheap, or simply because it was a great fallback dinner for busy weeknights or lazy weekends.
I’m not really sure, to be honest, what it was about this recipe, nor am I sure why we rarely eat it these days. But I’m sure that even after all this time it’s still a huge hit with the whole family.
And it’s my favorite comfort food, I can truly say this is one of those recipes that just tastes like home. And I hope your family enjoys this easy chicken broccoli casserole as much as mine does!

Any leftover chicken broccoli divan can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. You can also cover the cooled casserole in plastic wrap and pop the whole pan in the fridge to make for easy reheating.
To create an extra creamy sauce for this recipe, add a 1/4-1/2 cup of sour cream to the sauce mixture.
If you like you can use crushed Ritz crackers instead of breadcrumbs for this recipe!
